The Archbishop’s Charities and Development Drive (ABCD), our diocesan annual appeal, provides us with an opportunity to come together as one community of faith to serve the educational, physical and spiritual needs of our Catholic community here in south Florida. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we come together to advance our mission to love and serve, as Jesus did, through acts of charity and compassion to help those in need. Our Faith is alive in our parishes and schools, in our apostolic movements and ministries, and in our various programs of outreach to the poor, the immigrant, the elderly, the homeless and the disabled. It is alive in our people, people of all backgrounds and ages, and throughout every corner of our Archdiocese.

For all of us, making a gift to the ABCD is a way to give expression to the faith contained in our hearts; and for many, it is also an opportunity to give back, in thanksgiving, for the many blessings we have received from God. If you have not already responded to the letter sent to you by Archbishop Wenski in the mail, please take time to prayerfully consider your pledge for this year. Open your hearts in support of the ABCD and the hundreds of thousands of people it helps by making a gift. Each gift makes a difference and changes lives.

As we begin this New Year, a critical need has surfaced for additional ushers, greeters, and ministers of hospitality. How nice it would be to have an expanded team of people greeting people at the doors of church, opening the doors for the elderly and visitors, assisting with seating options, handing out bulletins, facilitating the procedures of the weekend collections according to Archdiocesan procedures, and attending to the protective of care of the church’s stewardship.

The Saturday 5:00pm Mass and the Sunday 5:30pm are in particular need of volunteer support in this regard. Men or women, adults or teenagers are welcome to participate in this ministry. Training will be provided. An information meeting will soon be scheduled. Please see Father Davis for more information.

As a way to promote the advancement of our parish, its fiscal needs, fundraising and special events, special projects, and marketing and public relations initiative, our Director of Advancement, Jorge Perez, will soon be convening a Development Council to assist him in strategic planning and ground work.

If interested in participating, please contact Jorge Perez at (305) 446-9950, .

On Sunday, January 28th, COTLF will hold its re-scheduled annual Ministries Fair to showcase the (now) 55 active ministries and services that are part of the life of our parish community.

Ministry leaders are starting to prepare for the event. But, all parishioners are welcome to attend and participate.

It will last from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Mark your calendars. Free refreshments available.

Primarily designed to assist a Catholic when death comes, through caring assistance with funeral preparation and family needs, the Bereavement Ministry is also meant to assist grieving people who have lost a loved one and are journeying through grief towards hope, healing, and rebuilding.

Counsel, accompaniment, and print resources are often made available by caring individuals in the name of the Church.

To become involved, please contact Luis Cuza,
