Are you interested in becoming a Catholic? Were you baptized Catholic as a child but have not yet celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist? Do you know someone who still has not received their Sacraments of Initiation?

The Church of Little Flower offers you an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, (RCIA) is the formation process to prepare adults and persons who have reached the age of reason, to receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

The RCIA is for:

  • Unbaptized adults and young persons who have reached the age of reason and wish to become Catholics.
  • Adults baptized in another Christian Church who are seeking full communion with the Roman Catholic Church and seek the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
  • Baptized Adults who were baptized as infants in the Catholic Church and now seek the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

RCIA meets every Tuesday from 7:00pm through 9:00pm at Reilly Parish Center starting on September 25, 2018.

Applications are available in the front of the Church, the Parish Center or on our website. Application may be e-mailed to Deacon Roberto F. Fleitas, Jr. at or delivered or mailed to Church of the Little Flower, 2711 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. Attention: Deacon Roberto F. Fleitas, Jr.

Our plans for a new circular driveway to be installed outside the Sevilla Avenue entrance to our church are soon to commence. Meant to assist the comfortable drop off of our elderly and handicapped parishioners, and assist with the ease of entrance to the church, the new driveway is projected to be completed in time for a blessing ceremony on October 1st.

  • The price tag for the circular driveway will be approximately $49,500.
  • The good news is that we already have received $38,800 in donations.

Contributions to this worthy cause are now being accepted in person to Father Davis or on-line, as part of the drop-down donation platform at www.cotlf.org on-line giving.

For more information on donation opportunities, please contact Jorge Perez at the Office of Advancement, (305) 446-9950, ext. 318.

On Monday, October 1st, the patronal feast of Saint Therese, the Little Flower, we will have a ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony for our new side-entrance Sevilla Avenue driveway.

As part of the brief ceremony, all parishioners who drive through the circular driveway on the day of its grand opening can have their car blessed and sprinkled with Holy Water. The ceremony is scheduled for 7:30pm.

All are welcome.

On Thursday, October 4th, feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, we will once again have the annual ceremony for the blessing of animals. It will take place at 7:00pm in the big yard behind the church sacristy on Sevilla Avenue.

Bring your pets for the brief prayer service. Each pet will be blessed with holy water, and presented with a Saint Francis medal.

All are welcome.

Father Davis recently got word from the Southeastern Lieutenancy of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, affirmed by Archbishop Wenski, that he has been promoted to the rank of Knight Commander in the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.

He will receive this distinction at the regional annual convention of the Southeastern Lieutenancy on the weekend of October 6th here in Miami. Three other parishioners will simultaneously be welcomed into the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher on this occasion as well (Deacon Roberto Fleitas, Carlos Chialastri and Raul Cairo).

Congratulations to them all!

On Monday, October 8th at 7:30pm, commemorating the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, we will have our annual outdoor candlelight international rosary ceremony at the grotto of the Immaculate Conception on the priest’s rectory house lawn.

The rosary which will be prayed in five languages, will include a Marian teaching, and be followed by social on the carport.

All are welcome.

For those who are registered for the November pilgrimage trip to the Holy Land, please mark your calendars. We will have our pre-departure meeting, during which Father Davis will distribute the airline e-tickets, the itinerary booklets, hotel lists, rooming lists, final itinerary, pilgrim’s guide, and travel notes on Friday October 19th at 7:30pm in Comber Hall.

At that time, all remaining questions will be fielded, as we make final preparations for our departure to the Holy Land on November 9th. Our exciting trip to the Holy Land is soon around the corner!

In January of 2019, 12 COTLF pilgrims will be traveling to Panama for World Youth Day 2019, representing our parish and the Archdiocese of Miami at this worldwide gathering of Catholic youth, which is held every 3 to 4 years. In 2016, our parish sent a group of 8 pilgrims to WYD Krakow, where they were moved by Poland’s rich Catholic identity, got to participate in catechetical sessions led by bishops from around the world, participated in a night of praise and worship with some of the world’s most famous Catholic musicians, and the highlight of all highlights, attended Stations of the Cross, Adoration, and Mass with Pope Francis, who actually passed by within 6 feet of the group!

This year’s pilgrims are ready for another life-changing experience as they gather with the youth of the world and we need your help to get us there! Each pilgrim will be covering half of their way to the trip, and we as a parish have pledged to cover the remaining half. We are just $10,000 from meeting our goal to send this group of parish teens on the pilgrimage experience of a lifetime!

If you might be interested in donating and helping to sponsor one of our pilgrims, please contact Jorge Santibáñez, our DRE/Youth Minister, at JSantibanez@cotlf.org.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

With gratitude, WYD 2019 Pilgrims :
JP, Julianna, Nicolas, Daniela, Sebastian, Isabel, Amanda, Alessandra, Jorge, Angie, Miriam, & Paulina.
