Parish CRE / School Campus Minister
Church of the Little Flower and St. Theresa Catholic School in picturesque and centrally located Coral Gables, Florida is hiring a Parish CRE / School Campus Minister. This person reports to the Parish Manager and School Principal and provides support to the Parish and School Administrative Teams. The Parish CRE / School Campus Minister is responsible for proclaiming the Gospel message, furthering the faith community, organizing workshop experiences, and implementing archdiocesan as well as Parish and School Guidelines. The person selected for this position is expected to support and uphold the philosophy and mission of Church of the Little Flower and St Theresa Catholic School. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Education and Experience:
- Masters in Theology preferred
- Fulfill the Catechetical Certification Requirements from the Archdiocese of Miami
- Virtus Training
- CPR/First Aid Certified (optional in Florida)

Language Skills:
- Good oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good Spanish-language oral and written communication skills required.

CRE Duties
- Develop and implement a plan for comprehensive and systematic catechesis for children, youth and adults based on the plan for comprehensive and systematic catechesis of the Archdiocese of Miami.
- Implement the catechetical policies and curriculum of the Archdiocese of Miami.
- Direct the parish catechetical programs for children.
- Maintain accurate records on student enrollment, attendance, and sacramental preparation and submits requested data to the Office of Catechesis.
- Ensure a pastoral approach for all in setting program structures, e.g., calendar dates, scheduling use of facilities, procedures for registration and fee collection.
- Set the environment for procedures for management of sessions and discipline.
- Assure adequate supervision of minors during the entire time they are on the parish premises for catechetical activities.
- Recruit and screen candidates for the role of catechist.
- Manage the Virtus of Children program, catechetical certification of school teachers and parish catechists, and various retreats for faculty, parents, and students throughout the year.
- Develop role descriptions for catechetical personnel and support staff.
- Provide regular evaluation for catechists at all levels.
- Participate in the on-going formation opportunities provided by the Office of Catechesis.
CRE Duties
- Works with teachers to further the catechetical Ministry ongoing formation program for teachers by suggesting courses available and offered by the Archdiocese. Once received, transcripts of certificates of completed courses are forwarded to the Archdiocese for teachers’ files.
- Plans, with the approval of the principal, inservices in various areas of catechetical and maintains accurate records of the attendance. Provides a copy to the principal for her records and maintains her own record keeping.
- Meets with the Principal to evaluate the religion program on an annual basis and maintains records for purposes of accreditation and self-study reports of FCC/ARK
- ARK testing: Upon request of the principal, meet to analyze test results and share test results with teachers as directed by the principal
- Works with the Principal to oversee the implementation of Christian Anthropology programs in accordance with Archdioceses guidelines.
- Works with teachers and the principal to execute the lesson plans for teaching religion.
- Provides faculty with resources for personal faith development and catechetical updating (i.e. books, periodicals, church documents, workshops, classes etc.)
- Maintains flow of communication (electronically or otherwise) as needed with classroom teachers regarding the teaching of religion as part of the curriculum, liturgical seasons, days of prayer, etc.
- Works with Carmelite Sisters in sharing with the faculty and the school community in the richness of the Carmelite spirituality and provides resources as needed
- Ensures that teachers’ know and understand the religious standards at the beginning of the school year according to the Archdiocesan standards
- Works with parent education programs in sacramental preparation and religious formation for both school and parish programs
- Prepares 2nd grade students for First Communion and First Penance, including Jesus Day retreat, and practice, in coordination with DRE and teachers
- During the school year, assists the homeroom teacher in planning school liturgies, school related non-Eucharistic prayer celebrations, adoration to the blessed sacrament, reconciliation services for students ·
- Participates in the Vocation Awareness Group ·
- Takes active role in the “Morning Exercises” by providing spiritual formation to the children (e.g Virtue of the month, saint of the day, feast, liturgical season etc)
- Assists teachers in organizing and coordinating school-wide religion projects and activities only as designated in the Faculty Handbook
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with the organization and execution of the annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) Summer Camp in late June.
- Is available for any special projects as needed by Administration
- Attend and assist in all mandatory staff and planning meetings, including staff in-services, days of prayer.
- Works two hours on an annual basis of School Service such as School’s Fair
- Attend at least two extracurricular school events sponsored by the school: picnics and/or sporting events sponsored by the school
