This weekend, a second collection will be taken up for the Seminary Burse Fund. This fund assists the Archdiocese through an endowment that supports the tuition costs of educating our future priests. The collection is timed to take place on or near the feast of St. John Mary Vianney, the Cure d’Ars, patron saint of the diocesan clergy. Like St. John Vianney, we pray that our priests – and our future priests – model their lives on his heroic virtue and give themselves totally to the service of the Gospel and the pastoral care of souls. I again thank you for your generosity in contributing to the Burse and I ask your prayers that many young people in our Archdiocese will embrace a vocation of service to the Church in responding to the call of priesthood or religious life.
